Saw this and have a million and one questions about it. What do YOU guys think?
iBowSight (The Bow Sight for the iPhone Age)

Definitely illegal here Al. No electronics are allowed on your bow, At least since the last time I checked.

Jeff, the question I posed has nothing to do with legality. I am just curious if anyone has checked it out at all. You can have electronics such as a camera and such on your bow. You can't have any lights or battery powered devices to assist in the take of animals in California (Fish and Game Code 2005, Section (c)). That doesn't stop you from target practicing with it or using it another state.
(c) It is unlawful to use or possess at any time any infrared or similar light used in connection with an electronic viewing device or any night vision equipment, optical devices, including, but not limited to, binoculars or scopes, that use light-amplifying circuits that are electrical or battery powered, to assist in the taking of birds, mammals, amphibians, or fish.
While I understand you can't use this feature with an iPhone on a bow in California, I am still curious if anyone has looked into it. I pose the question again, has anyone checked it out?

This is the first I have heard of it. It sounds pretty interesting and could even be fun to play around with but I would definately not leave my moment of truth in the hands of an iphone.

You're definitely the first one to show it to me. There was a dude on here that was videoing from a bracket on his bow with a droid. You know how dfg is here, and they would hammer you. That vendetta is illegal to have on your bow, and it could potentially make more ethical shots.

What happens when it rains or snows? Not only do you lose your sight but you lose your phone. Then you have to worry about battery life. For hunting I would definetly not trust this sight, I would much rather have a sight that you don't have to worry if you remembered to charge it or if it might get wet. Next they'll have an app to help shoot your bow or rifle for you :)

That is what I had shown in the Mathews show. Here is some pictures of them Below is what it looks like in Elusion snow camo for iBowSight and AeroRest on my son's Craze. Notice the ring color changes when I tilt the bow!

FYI, the bow like Craze is about as small as a bow that can use iBowSight due to the phone size, any lower on the mount, there will not have enough room to shoot.

I believe for all practical purposes that is a BAD IDEA. Although it may be fun to play around with in the back yard with a target, it has no place in the woods. That will just lead to much more lost and wounded game. If it was there for the purpose of video, fine, but to be used as a hunting sight, foolish is my opinion.

That is what they said with the first night vision video sight for the military too, the compound bow, tree stand for hunting. As time passed the technology will only improve.
At 1 penny under $100 in the App Store I say its a waste of money. I love my iPhone and wouldn't trade it for any other phone now or anytime in the future. But what I would do is continue to use my $30 Toxonics 5 pin sight that works perfectly fine for me. Though pretty cool and interesting I wouldn't use it in the field. How would I play "Words With Friends" with it strapped on my bow!!????
It looks like a great toy! I would play around with one....but I would not pay for it.
