Anyone use a Primus EtaExpress™ or a Jetboil?

Does anyone use a Primus EtaExpress™ or a Jetboil? i was dead set on getting a Jetboil when I heard about the EtaExpress. Both get great reviews, but the Eta is a pot and pan built in. I'd love to hear what you guys use. I am looking to purchase a good backpack stove and these two seem to be at the top of the list. If you guys use a different one I'd like to hear about that, too. Thanks |

Well...i use the jetboil personally cause its been around awhile and have never had a problem with it ..its light also....but i have heard great thing's about the Primus!

Good to know. I was able to use a hunting buddy's Jetboil on a recent hog hunt and it was great. Fortunately for me I just won one on ebay. Couldn't beat the price! Thanks for the help guys.

Jetboil here...one small canister lasts at least 6 days for me...dinner and breakfast, on a 100g canister, which is the smaller. Jetboil says you should get 24 boils out of each 100g canister...so I probably consume 15 or so and have room to spare with just one canister, even for an 8 day. I gave up packing a second after I figured out how much I had left at the end. I like it for the reliability, compact storage, and easy use. I have heard of trouble with the igniter, but you can bend it back.
Also, don't cook in the cup. IF you do oatmeal, or whatever, pour the boiling water into a cup or something...cleanup is a mess and things stick. Just my opinion.
The only thing to be aware of is temperature and altitude. If the canister gets too cold it won't ignite. So mine goes in my sleeping bag at night to combat that one. The other thing is the KABOOM when you light one at altitude. It does light, but can get your attention. I have experienced this from 10,000ft and up...used up to 13,000ft without any trouble.
