Thu, 04/21/2011 - 23:06
I surely hope so , pulleys , cables and ugh! releases make me cringe a bit . Don't throw stones at me for this statement BUT at our archery club we having a saying " The compound bow was invented much like softball ------------------so everyone can particpate ' LOL . |

I think it's just you, Von. :) I know there are a few traditional guys on here, but I think they are probably looking to get some 'training wheels'.

You better believe im here! Lol! Im a huge trad fan. I used to use wheels but gave it up when i found trad bows. I got em all Longbows, Recurves, & selfbows. Never looked back once I switched but i dont judge what others shoot. I love shooting with compound shooters who have never shot a trad bow. They cant believe I can hang right in there with em!! (Wake up call)
I hunt with both man. I shoot my recurve a lot. I just picked it up last season and didnt kill anything with it. Hopefully this season for sure though!
recurve is all i shoot now
I like to think i am,I haven't owned a wheel bow since 1990 and recurves and long bows are all I shoot with wood arrows, but there again the older i'm getting I don't like to throw stones because our hunting population is getting older and enough people don't like us just because we hunt, and I don't want to divide and separate ...We may need all hunters one of these days to defend our passion..
I'm afraid that when I die,my wife will sell everything for what I told her I paid for it...
i agree with you wvtradbow we shouldn't divide and seperate, i enjoy shooting traditional because i like the challange, i got bored shooting a compound
I hunt with Longbow and just bought a Border Black Douglas Recurve, although I cannot decide which is coming to Elk Camp this year!!!!
Trad all the way :)

I have never shot one but have herd good things about them, so i figure the would be worth a try
Hi Eric
I've not shot the Hoyt Buffalo, but know a few that have and they said nothing but good things about it. I have a Hoyt Excel 21"riser (matt black), with TradTech longbow Limbs. It works out cheaper than the Buffalo and is a really great set-up, super smooth, no stack and really quiet..... just a thought!!

I made a switch to traditional archery two years ago and have had great success with it. I dont really want to hunt with my compound anymore. I never thought there would be anything more fun than hunting with my compound until I killed my first deer with my recurve. I've managed to get all but three of my recurve kills on film. I'm having a blast with it. Can't wait for season to start!
