Arrow Wraps

Well.... To me it's a no brainer the OTHER way.... If it's easy for me to see then it's easy for deer to see especially when you have a whole quiver full of them and you're sneaking through the woods.

 I guess they'd be OK if you're hunting from a tree stand, but even then, why wear Camo if you're going to outfit your gear with reflective tape? Just my thoughts....

I agree with you Tuffy and see your point, but if you have a quiver full of colors as well wouldn't it have a similar effect? This is my dilema in which is the best color/combo to help find your arrow after your shot. I just thought I would see what everyone else is shooting and see what works the best. From your picture I see you shoot yellow wraps. Have you had good luck with those? Are they pretty visible? I hunt a variety of areas like desert, mountain, and river bottoms. I am open to and looking for opinions from everyone and see what they have had work the best. So any input is appreciated.

I've also seen guys that take little strips of the reflective tape that's only like a half inch wide and wrap it up by the nock. This would eliminate the bulk of the reflective tape but still making it easy to find at night with a flashlight. But then again like you said, it could spook a deer if the sun catches it just right.

I guess it's the "reflective" part that I have a problem with.... If it shines when you shine a light on it, it seems it would shine if the sun hits it.

 When I went to yellow wraps and fletches it was out of necessity as these old eyes don't see as well as they used to, so I had to go to something in a lighter color. I would have gone to Camo if I thought I'd ever see it in flight or find an arrow in the woods.

In the Contest and Giveaway forum there's a thread that Forest_Crawler started about some Vanes that have a reflective back edge. They might be something that would do the trick.

Again it wasn't the Color that I worried about, it was the Reflective part.

Wayne, I appreciate the feedback. I have camo fletchings on my camo arrows and it is a pain for me to try and find them. My brother (he'll kill me for saying this) has gone to a pink wrap with pink and white fletchings in order to find his arrow easier. I don't know how I feel about pink but he claims it's easier for him.

I actually did request for a free sample of the vanes that Forest_Crawler posted and I am excited to try them out. I totally overlooked the reflective part in the sunlight part. I was more focused on finding them at night. Again thanks for the input and suggestions.

I use white wraps with all black fletchings....only because I like the way it looks. As far as the reflective wraps....Im on the fence.

I use all white wraps and fletchings .... very visible ( except when there is snow on the ground )

I've never used wraps on my arrows. But I don't think I'd use a reflective wrap if I did. But I use either a pink/white or lime green/white fletchings on my arrows and they stand out enough for me to see.

Pink is great for arrows not to be funny but there is nothing in the woods that color and in the side of a animal it glows letting you know where you hit

I agree with bowman33. I have used pink for the last year and they show up really well. So, unless you are hunting in a pink flower patch (Eddy) your fletching will stick out well.

I use pink and im not ashamed to admit it. lol. But on a serious note, Pink and flo yellow Blazer vanes with a red NOCKTURNAL.

I used to use wraps but hosestly I just got sick of having to re-wrap my arrows every time I had to replace a vane. Like Tuffy said they are kinda like waiving a big flag around when your walking in the woods, but I also fletch my arrows with 3 white vanes so its probably about the same for me. I dont think I would go with a reflective wrap though. Sitting in a blind or stand it might not be too bad but i wouldn't want something like that on a spot and stalk.

I use hot pink and flow orange for wraps and vanes...this year I am shooting the new neon Fusion vanes by Norway...I really like them so far.  Shooting this with fixed two blade simmons shark broadheads.  Taking vanes off at 90!

As for using reflextive...I would get a cover for your vanes or make one...i use solid flat colors..they stick out...but deer and elk can't see them.  Reflextive can give you away even if you only move a little bit.

As for not using wraps because you get sick of rewrapping....use blazers or some other short vane...put the wrap 1/4 in. in front of the vanes.  The you can strip vanes without affecting wraps.
