Not yet. I usually cant get out of San Diego but have been wanting to pack into the Marble Mountains for a very long time now. Combo hunt, deer, bear, and grouse. Maybe next year.

Dont know anyone, just read a couple of articles a while back. One was a couple of guys who just went packing in with bow and rod. Shooting grouse and catching fish was there food. They got on to a couple of deer but the bear were plentyfull. If your up for it, we will need to plan a trip.

Ya, its Siskiyou county. Need to check but it either C1 or B6. And no matter what Eric wants to say, he has to admit that I make gooooood camp meat.

Zone B6. The Marbles is some good country. I used to pack into Shelly in my younger days, 20 years ago, good hunting and fishing. I have a place about 5 miles from the trailhead. There's a lot of good places to get into,  Don't go to sky high or big meadows, too many people in that a way.  If you want a good outfitter I can refer you to a freind that runs a nice string. He might also give you some suggestions on what area to hunt as he's in and out of there pretty much all the time. His website is < http://www.sandeoutfitters.com > names Ken, shoots Trad too!

I dont want to hire an outfitter but a finger point is always welcome. Going in on lovers camp any good? How did you do in your younger days? Nice site he has. How is the bear and deer in the area?

That's funny, Eric failed to say anything about the "camp meat" But that explains what the big smile on his face was all about when he got back from Utah....LOL....

You don't, but it wouldn't hurt to give him a call and maybe get a pointer. Lovers Camp is fine if you dont mind, most all the packers go in that way. Easier on the animals! Thats why I go in through Shelly, but I went in on horse with only one animal in tow. Hunting was good fishing excellent. The animals are where you find them though. Bear can be most anywhere, there was one around camp opening week, ( Trinity Wilderness ).

My little brother just called this afternoon he just shot a 3x3 , he's on his way to the coldroom at grandmas. Nice to be semi layed off during bow season !! He says it was starting to spit rain up high where he got him, warm in the valley though.

Hot here today, I hunted till 2. I need rain.

Anymore ?  I'll get bask ASAP

He got 2 down, first was a small fork 2-3 days after I had to go back to work opening week. I'm going back up after start of rifle. Try and fil my AO and rifle tag in 5 days. Then we're off to WY. This having a job sure sucks.

Well it all started about 23 years ago when i was about 5 years old, shooting birds and squirls with my remington pellet gun.  Fishing was deffenintly on my aggenda also, but as i grew older bowhunting became my passion.  I have always loved a chalenge and there is nothing that fullfills that better than sneeking up on an animal and drawing back my bow at 20 yrds letting one fly straight through the pump station, now thats a rush.  I also love the Lord, and he gives me the patience to make those awesome stalks.  GENESIS 27:3  Now then, get your weapons-your quiver and bow-and go out to the opencountry to hunt some wild game for me.
