I am getting a drift boat next week. If any diy bowhunters out there have a desire to come up to the north coast of california I would be willing to guide you all to catch salmon and steelhead at no cost. I Live in a epic spot for those sea run beauties. also I have a boat to take out on the ocean ( if swells permit) to catch rockfish, halibut, lingcod, and of course the best fish in the world, KING SALMON. Get this shit started and we all could benefit. Thats why I am norcaloutdoorsman. I fish and hunt. Mostly fish but I love to hunt.
That would be awsome. I have always wanted to catch a salmon. Do you ever get out into any albacore when they run up that way? I have all my own gear and tackle. I dont get sea sick and have some money for gas. Lets try and set something up for this year.
Never had a chance at the tuna. You need a big boat for that and I use a 14 foot crestliner which can only troll two or three at a time. I hear the tuna's epic and I plan on taking a trip this year, they are here in June and July or whenever the water temp is right. The steelhead run is from mid december to late march, which just ended. The ocean salmon season starts in April (from shelter cove south)/May (humboldt/del norte waters) through September, the river salmon run is about August to January. I have huge conflicts with fishing and hunting especially with the fish counts this year and buying my boat. Dfg estimate 1.2 million kings out there with 80k plus 50 pounders. I want one of those. Does anyone else?
I'm getting maried in September, told the future wife that I don't care where we go for honeymoon as long as I get to go offshore fishing. I want a marlin! Fished the salmon run around Olimpia, Wa in October 2009 mostly on the chehalis river had a blast and lost something HUGE. Never did see it though. Now that I live in AZ I Miss the walleye, trout and musky fishing in Wisconsin. But for me fishing is just something you do when there is nothing to hunt.
Go for it. It will give me one more thing to waste time on during work.

I might let you hit my left nut with a hammer to land a 50 pounder. That would be awesome!
