Morning started out with the alarm buzzing at 3:45. Got to dressed and to the parking lot just as it was starting to get light. Packed in about a mile and a half to an open area in a creek drainage. On the way in, ! scat pile and lots of tracks...coyote and deer...and people. Not liking the people, but im already in. I set up and called for about a half hour with a DIY make shift decoy. No luck at all. packed up and kept on the trail. Hiked a total round trip of 7 miles and no dogs. Only saw a few ground squirrels and one presented a shot. Here are some pics from the trip. Last one is a graphic close up...just a heads up.

Nice shooting! I'll bet you'll see yotes the more you go. They are everywhere.
Nice head shot.
Great shot! Looks like an awesome area to be in!

Nice one. Did you take off the same trail as when we went or try out a new area?
Same general area. Just before where we parked, a few miles back, I went left right over the bridge and took that a few miles to a turn off and went in on a trail from there. I wanna check out the one road we wanted to drive, but it was gated like a mile back before where we parked too.
Nice, When do you have time tro get out again. I need to get away from this office.
Let me know if you guys want to go soon. I could use some exercise and would love to help you guys do some scouting.
Im game whenever. Off this weekend, not sure of any plans yet. May have my nieces friday night after the range and into sat. Might be able to do something on sunday for a few hours?
