So I was curious what everyone's opinion is in trail camera flash. I have a trail camera with Infrared and one with conventional flash but I haven't had the one with conventional flash out yet. I have heard a lot of people claim the conventional flash scares the animals and strongly advise against it. What are your opinions?

Hey man Iv used a lot of cameras with the conventional flash and never had a problem yet with scaring anything away. I got multiple pictures of the same animal standing there while the flash is going off. I wouldnt worrie about it.

I have used flash and IR cameras. Sometimes I think the flash spooks game.  However, it doesn't always. For example in my blacktail deer spot I had my old Wildview on a trophy rock and I got a ton of pictures of a the same doe and fawn.  Then I had the same camera in a good elk crossing and after about 3 weeks they seemed to dissappear.  Call it coincidence or just elk being elk.  I just don't want to miss seeing a good buck/elk because I was too cheap to invest in an IR camera.

When in doubt I would buy an IR!  You don't have to go high dollar. I have been using Stealth Cameras that were less thant $100.  I bought 4 and only one was a POS.

Good luck guys!  Trail cams rule.
