I have finished a few more mounts and wanted to share. Western Texas Mule Deer This is the first Mule Deer that I have mounted. I liked the way it turned out.
Just doing some final clean up and treating the antlers. Southwest Missouri Archery Whitetail Same deer only, a closer look. Southwest Missouri. This buck scored 145" and turned out awesome! |

Very good looking mounts you did there. looks great
Nice work, Faron! You did a great job. How long does it take you from start to finish? Just curious about the process. Cool stuff!

Thanks guys. I really enjoy doing taxidermy. I'm just starting in my own shop so I'm not as fast as some guys but, I believe that if I take my time and produce a mount that I would be proud to hang in my house then I have done my best. So far everyone has liked their mounts.
It takes me around 20-25 hours to do a deer head. That is total time with each head but, beacuse of the drying time between processes, it takes around 3-4 weeks from the time I get it until I'm calling you to come get it. I do my own tanning so I'm able to get them done faster than some shops who send them out to a tannery.
If you have any specific questions, I would be more than happy to share what I know.
Thanks for the kind words fellas! (Selfishly, I really enjoy hearing it! Haha!)
