What is the reason you shoot compounds over tradbow?

Probably the same reason you live in a house or drive a car. It is a way of making us more efficient...

I don't think I have just one reason why I shoot a compound over a trad bow. I started out traditional and got into compounds at an early age. I love the new technology of the bows, the feel and the packability. Like Jason said, it also makes us more efficient. To each his own. I won't knock a person for shooting what he/she feels most confident shooting. I absolutely love my wheels!

I started shooting on a compound bow back in 1989 and started hunting with one in 1991 and I've never looked back!  The first traditional bow I ever got, a longbow, was 4 years ago when my daughters were showing an interest in the sport and we couldn't find a compound bow that they could draw AND was in my budget for them.  My now 13 year old daughter shoots a compound bow and my 5 and 3 year old daughters shoot longbows......I'm sure they will both be shooting compound bows before long though.

My 13 year old switched to the compound 3 years ago in order to start working her way up to 40lbs in order to be able to kill a deer and ultimately an elk succesfully.
