Rayzr fletching by gateway feathers
Wed, 08/04/2010 - 15:06
I have recently tried a couple arrows with the RAYZR 2 inch fletchings. At first I anticipated them being high maintenance and not worth all the extra effort. The size , shape is a basic blazer format. However the cut on rayzr allow for a more broad profile carrying the .5 inch tall fletching farther than blazers. They are more of a true 2 inches long than blazers as well. Blazers measured just short on the 2 inch mark whereas the rayzr is a full 2 inches. Mainly I was out to see how it would perform. While doing some broadhead tuning I had several pass throughs on my black hole target. My immediate thought was oh man, that didnt last long! Expecting to see a wad of feathers sprawling in all directions after pulling the rest of the arrow out the back of the target. To my suprise it looked exactly like it did when I shot it. This happend almost everytime I shot the arrow with broadheads. It appeared the individual strands of "feathers" would just lay back against the shaft allowing them to spring right back ino to place after removed. Once things were set and tuned, I tried some broadhead groups at 20 yds. Flight is great and quiet as can be expected. They did the job and grouped my arrows just beautifully as well I launched some field points from the same location and bam the went into the same groups as the broadheads. So needless to say I am pleased as well as impressed by the performance of this product. I will be using these during my bowhunts in the future and will follow up with any news that could be usefull. Would recommend this product to anyone that is interested in having great arrow flight! Thanks |

Thanks, DBLUNG! I may have to give these a shot. I have been using Blazers for a while and I am always willing ti try new things out. I'll have to see how they compare in a shoot-off with arrows fletched with Blazers. Good luck this season!
