Does anyone know the round about time for the rut in Julian area?  It's the first time that I got an A22 tag, and I want to use it to my advantage.  I know L.A. county is about the 3rd week of October is S.D. the same?

 Usually starts around the second week of Nov and into the first week of Dec, give or take.  Thanksgiving week is usually prime time.  Good luck.

Last season i took a buddy of mine down to an old spot of mine i used to hunt before i switched to A31zone and was able to put him on a good first bowkill buck for him,and to answer your question he was ruttin hard i beleive it was around the 22nd i have to look at the pic's but like sdhntr said thanksgiving week usually is real good time to be out!

Thanks guys for all of the info.  I saw a lot of dear this year at one of my turkey spots.  So hopefully, I can get on to a good one down there.
