I don't use a single pin for hunting. But if your looking for one take a look at the Spot Hogg Tommy or Boss Hogg. My next sight will probably be the Tommy Hogg with 3 or 5 pin. Then I can use the bottom pin as my fixed pin for further distances adjusting the knob.
I had an HHA Single and loved it for target. In a spot and stalk situation it works fine but for stand hunting where you might have a range of yardages. No good! I lost your number too when I got my new phone. Drop me a text Bro!
I have used the Sure-Loc Sportsmans Special for the past 3 years and it has been great. I can shoot out to 126 yards with great accuracy. The one complaint I have with it is the unprotected fiber and the rather week metal pin that holds it, that beeing said I have only had one incident with it and that was is the back yard during practice so it was no big deal. Sitting in the treestand or when im on the ground with elk I keep it set at 32 yards so anything out to 40 is just a couple inches of adjustment in either direction. If all I ever did with my bow was hunt elk or sit in a stand I think I would use a fixed pin sight but I mainly set my bow up for spot and stock mule deer and the Sure-Loc is hard to beat for that.
For hunting or target?
I shoot a bow.
It's a pretty camo one.
I shoot a black one at targets,
and I heart Eric.

My only opinion I have on a single pin is, that in the heat of the moment, the last thing you want to do is worry about adjusting your sight.
