Spotting Scopes and the need for them
I recently purchased a Barska 20mm x 60mm spotting scope and I would recommend against anyone getting one. They'd be good for target practice, but not for in the field use. They are super lightweight, but the eye relief is terrible and when you get to full distance viewing it gets foggy.
I am using my Nikon Monarchs 10x36 for most outings and they work great. Sure, they cost a bit more, but they are guaranteed for life. I am looking to get another spotting scope, but I wanted to get everyone's opinion. Do you feel the need for them and what brands would you recommend. I know that the Barksa would perform low, but I had to try it out. Now I want a good one without having to empty my bank account for a Swarovski.
