I've never tried the pass shooting but I did do a spot and stalk on a gaggle of geese. I was able to get one that way. It was after a Thanksgiving deer hunt that I was making my way back, saw a gaggle of geese so I figured why not. Put the stalk on and got me a Thanksgiving goose!

I dont see why it would be illegal unless they dont let you archery hunt waterfowl where you hunt.  I havent seen that many birds since I was last in north dakota.  Just dont shoot straight up and you should be okay.  Birds are easier to hit when they are coming at you than when they are overhead.  Better yet get them to decoy and draw right before they land!  I belly crawled about 100 yards on three swans, two were feeding with their heads in the water and one was sleeping on the bank.  I got this one at about 40 yards when I jumped them off the water.  Our lab made a 200 yard blind retrieve on this bird. When he got back to the shoreline he caughed up some water and laid down.  It was one of the best retrieves I ever saw him make!

His name is Buddy, Best dog I've ever hunted with, we refer to him as the General!
