Never used a call for deer only turkey, quail, and predators. At some point I want to head east for whitetail at that point i will be lost. As of right now, I even do spot and stalk on turkey for the most part so I use calls very little.
I can't say I've had much luck with calls. I have used various grunt calls and Primos can calls. I had a couple small bucks come to the can but ran right past.
I would say it depends on where you hunt and what type of deer you are going for. Most mulies don't react to too many calls, but whitetails do. I use a doe bleat from Primos and just got me a M.A.D. Buck Growl. I can't wait to use it in western NY this November. A good grunt call and a snort wheeze work great!

I love the hands free grunt call from away outdoors. I dont use it hands free but i like a call that isnt so deep. I feel like more deer respond to a younger buck than an old badass! Its a nice med tone call. If I had to pick one available at any store i like the hs Truetalker.
I love my Primos Buck Roar! While on a hunt in Kansas 2 years ago, I was changing the o-ring to a different position and it popped off and fell to the ground from my treestand....gone forever! I emailed Primos and explained what happened asking if there was a way I could purchase more. They sent me 4 for free and they were here in Colorado within a week!
Primos ANYTHING has my vote!

I have never called deer before. I really like Primos though.

I tried the buck roar last year, didn't care for it. This year I'll be back to using the old stand by powerpunch.
Yea, I shoot Bambi, Try not to cry!
