You gotta try this!

Hello Bowhunters! I just wanted to let you all know that the javalina are thick as ticks in south Texas this year! I just got home from my annual trip to Laredo, Tx and we had absolutely no problem stickin' stink pigs! If you havent ever hunted them - you gotta try it. They are a blast to stalk and relatively easy to kill, if you can shoot! I look forward to reading some of your hunting experiences and you can follow me on twitter as well. Correct me if I am wrong but I believe I read somewhere that they are a year round hunt in Texas and a limit of 2.
There are different javalina seasons for different counties in Texas. You can get on the TPWD website and search for the season by county. You are correct about a limit of 2.

Growing up in Texas, we never worried about the stink pigs, too many feral hogs that were actual pork to hunt and no limit. I still prefer hunting feral hogs, but started hunting javelina here in AZ and they are a BLAST to hunt with a bow. When you get into the middle of a herd and they are running all around chomping their teeth and stuff, it can get a little bit exciting!
